Independent Funeral Celebrant

 

 

I am a fully qualified funeral celebrant, having studied with Civil Ceremonies Ltd for a NOCN Level 3 Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy (RQF).

Most people will book me for a funeral through their funeral director. You can, however, book me directly if you are choosing not to employ a funeral director.

I work alongside funeral directors, supporting families at a time in their lives when they are experiencing great personal loss. Once the booking is in place we will arrange to meet in person, to plan the service.

 

At this meeting I will listen to your thoughts about the funeral but I can provide ideas and guidance where needed and get to know as much as I can about the person you have lost – their life, their family, their beliefs and any final wishes they had. We can discuss readings or poetry, pieces of music and whether you want any religious content.

 

After this first meeting I will get straight to work on a bespoke ceremony script, which I can send to you for your thoughts and comments .

Each person is unique and has their own personal story which family and friends want to remember and share. I use my creative writing skills to craft a unique ceremony that tells a story and reflects the life of the the person who has died.

As an ex-nurse and teacher, I use my skills of warmth and compassion to work with you, so that together we can create a ceremony that is truly personal, individual, and memorable.

I will work hard to ensure the ‘essence’ of the person is captured, telling their story in a truly captivating way, creating a ceremony that honours their wishes and beliefs, and celebrates their life. Giving family and friends the opportunity to remember, celebrate and say goodbye.

On the day of the funeral I will lead the service with confidence and warmth, supporting you throughout the process.

 I also love working with families to create a more individual ceremony for Natural/Woodland burials and for Direct Funeral cremations.
