How wonderful it is to have a new child in the family. Something that should be celebrated!

Holding a Naming Ceremony is a very special way of celebrating the birth of your child or the arrival of an adopted child, welcoming your new arrival into your family and the wider community.
A Naming Ceremony is a unique occasion that allows everyone to feel involved as they pledge their love and support for your child’s future development.

A Naming Ceremony is different from a traditional christening because the main focus is not religion, instead it is the child and their family. It is an opportunity to announce to family and friends your child’s names and to declare your promises to be as good a parent as you can. Often ‘Supporting Adults’ or ‘Sponsors’ are appointed who will promise a special relationship with the child.

You can choose music, poems and maybe a special symbolic action like lighting a candle or planting a tree. Every naming ceremony is unique and tailored around your family's needs.

Family Blending
Perhaps you and your partner have recently become stepparents and want to celebrate. By acknowledging the new roles each of you now have and making promises to one another and to your child/children you can demonstrate the unity and togetherness.
It is lovely to involve everyone in some way, and a symbolic action such as lighting a candle or performing a sand ceremony are examples of ways to include everyone and to visually symbolise the creation and bonding of your new family.
